Oracle connection problems when connecting to multiple databases
I have a rails application that connects to two different databases. The first (primary) database is MySQL and the second is Oracle. I have followed the example in the Rails Recipes book and I have created a base class for the models connecting to oracle like this: class ConferenceBase < ActiveRecord::Base establish_connection :conference end :conference is setup in the database.yml. Samba and Logging Off Windows XP
Whenever I log-off of windows xp. I dont lose my mapped drive connection but I get an error message stating an invalid password. I enter the exact same password for the reconnect but it wont stay. It is not a problem just strange that I have to enter my password everytime even though I set it through the mapped drive settings. Anyone seen this before? -- Berlin Brown (ramaza3 on freenode)

XP Issues
We have a samba server acting as a PDC for approx 100 Windows 2000 workstations, and it has been doing so very well for the last year. We just purchased some XP Pro machines, and using the registry edit that's listed in the docs, we were able to get them on to the domain. The issue is that the very first time they try to view any drives mapped to the Samba server, it hangs for a good 30-40

Analogue phone w/ TDM400
Hi, I'm running * 1.2.7.1 on Red Hay 9.0 w/ a TDM 400 2 x FXS, 1 x FXO. I'm using a VTech cordless that makes three short beeps when someone another extension is picked up, presumably this lets you know if someone is trying to listen in.. Everything works, except the VTech now makes the three beeps everytime you try to use it, even if another extension is in use. It seems as though the

XP Pro connecting to PDC
I have followed the FAQs and HOW-TOs, including the Sign and Seal registry patch, but I am unable to make this work. RedHat 9.0 Samba 3.0.0rc4 XP Pro SP1 When I setup the PC and join the domain, it gives me the 'Welcome to the Domain' message, but I really don't think that this has worked because of errors in the log file, (yes I can provide, and yes I am using the smb user root).

Rtools (Windows XP): what dir is meant by "R source directory"?
Dear list, thanks for providing such a great thing as the Rtools! Everytime I install it, though, I'm somewhat "puzzled" when it comes to the section "Select R Source Home Directory" (32 bit and 64 builds). Is the folder that I need to specify here a) simply the root folder of my R installation (e.g. C:/R/R-2.13.0), b) a subfolder of the above R installation folder (e.g.
