Ubuntu 10.04 and R: dependency problems
...llo, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but please help if you can. I have Ubuntu 10.04 OS and was running R version 2.13.1 (2011-07-08) Copyright (C) 2011 The R Foundation for Statistical Computing ISBN 3-900051-07-0 Platform: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu (64-bit) I recently had problems using install.packages() to get 'maps' and 'mapproj' anyway, long story short- I used synaptic package manager to remove all R-related items. When I reinstall it I get errors (see below). I was actually getting similar errors when I tried to get the 'original awk' package...

Snow Leopard and Samba
A customer has an expanding number of Mac computers. Last Friday and existing machine started having problems writing files to a Samba share on a CentOS 5.x server. They had no problems prior to Friday. They are getting permission failure errors in creating files and folders. I made the sare owned by the user and group with group write enabled. Even with him as the owner he can not write to the sha...

oplock_break problem (PR#20285)
...ever come up with a *reproducible* test case - the clients just seem to "randomly" fail. Several people have also reported exactly this problem to have been fixed once a network problem is corrected, so at least some people (not all, I'll grant you) suffer this problem due to network problems. I guess I'm saying I recognise the problem, and am willing to believe people reporting it, however I don't yet have the reproducible test case that will allow a bug in the Samba code to be found. There is a also the possibility it is a problem in the underlying TCP timing between Sola...

AutoCAD / file lock problem / Samba 3.0.10
...e facing the same problem with AutoCAD. After having loaded one's file for editing, it complains that the file is already used when trying to save it. If trying several times to save the file, it will eventually get through and save it without complaining ! Seems there are several file lock problems with AutoCAD when searching the list archives. Is there a solution, either in the Windows registry or in the smb.conf a solution to that problem ? This is a serious problem at my client's site especially they mostly use AutoCAD as their primary business tool... Many thanks for any help....

Corrupt CDR records in Asterisk 1.2.x
...field show up as something like 'h? ' (random weird ASCII characters). This is in the MySQL table as well as the Master.csv, so my guess is that it is not a MySQL problem. Furthermore, I don't think it is a zaptel/bristuff problem, because my AGI scripts get the incoming number without problems all the time. The internal SIP calls are logged without a problem all the time. It's only ISDN calls from the outside world that are corrupt. When I stop Asterisk with "stop now" and restart it, the "src" and "clid" fields are OK for a while, but after a few call...

Problem with sending mail from mail server behind firewall.
I am having a problem with connections from a server behind a shorewall firewall. Both machines are running redhat 8.0 with a custom 2.4.20 kernel. The problem lies with a mail server I am configuring which has been able to send mail to all hosts, except this one. The connection starts with the SYN_SENT, and then just hangs there. (telnet to remote server on port 25 just hangs trying to

Problem decoding .flac files
I've been having problems with Amarok and K3B, but I think it comes down to a problem with flac. All my music and audio files are encoded in flac format. I've ripped my CDs using KAudioCreator and using this command to encode them (split for formatting): flac --best -o %o --tag=Artist=%{artist} --tag=Album=%{album...

Hello, Over the past several weeks, we have been having an intermittant problem with our deployment of a TDM400P card (4 fxo). ?We have tried many things, and the problem still re-occurs. The Problem: Occasionally (every 48 hours), the TDM400p card will stop answering incoming calls on ALL fxo ports. ?Attempts to send outbound calls on any Zap channel will result in hearing a loud

Asterisk 1.4 reliability problems
Hello All, We have been experiencing some ongoing reliability problems with Asterisk for quite some time, and I am trying to find out if anyone else has experienced the same problems. We are running asterisk 1.4.17~dfsg-2+b1 on Debian Lenny, with a Digium PRI card, and have approximately 120 sip peers, mostly Snom 360s, with a few Grandstream GXP2000 and a handful of...
