Hi, if you have orginal suse 8.2 kernel acl with reiser works,
last time i recompiled kernel 2.2.41 vanilla to work with suse ( patched for
newnat )
i couldnt integrate acl patch for reiser but for ext3.
So i guess reiser and acl is highly patched stuff which you should only use
with suse original kernels.
I tested suse 9.0 and suse kernel works with acl for reiser, ext3 with samba
3
from suse ftp.
perhaps you should roll back to samba 3 pack from suse ftp and wait until
they have samba 3.1 on their ftp ( should be in the middle of november my
info from this list ) and use ext3
but maybe suses developers can answer your questions ( its their pack )
there is also the possibility that you failed with your setup in smb.conf.
After all in suse 9.0 there is no samba 3 in sold versions, as the samba 3
packs are not offical released
of them seems to me that this can be called unstable/testing packs.
But as i wrote before my test were valid with reiser/acl in suse 8.2/9
samba 3.
Good Luck
