I'm running version: 2.0.7 on RH 7.0 on a small LAN at home with Win98, WinME and Win2K computers. Samba seems to be working well, except that my nmbd.logs are filled with the following messages: [2002/07/23 05:14:19, 0] nmbd/nmbd_browsesync.c:find_domain_master_name_query_fail(360) find_domain_master_name_query_fail: Unable to find the Domain Master Browser name SWAMP<1b> for the workgroup SWAMP. Unable to sync browse lists in this workgroup. NMBD generates these messages approximately every 15 minutes. Here's my smb.conf: # Samba config file created using SWAT # from blackhawk.swamp.ca (192.168.0.1) # Date: 2002/07/23 12:29:34 # Global parameters [global] workgroup = SWAMP netbios name = BALDEAGLE server string = Samba Server %h interfaces = 192.168.0.2/24 127.0.0.1/24 bind interfaces only = Yes security = SHARE encrypt passwords = Yes null passwords = Yes unix password sync = Yes log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log max log size = 50 time server = Yes os level = 65 lm announce = True preferred master = Yes dns proxy = No wins support = Yes guest account = smbuser [public] comment = Public path = /public force user = smbuser writeable = Yes create mask = 0664 directory mask = 0775 guest ok = Yes [homes] comment = Home Directories writeable = Yes create mask = 0750 browseable = No Since everything seems to working, these messages are mostly a nuisance. How can I make nmbd stop complaining? Janyce --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
