samba - Dec 2001 - Error 86 - the specified network password is not correct

Help!!!

When I try to change a user's password from a windows 9x machine I receive
this error.

I have included the following in the passwd chat option:

*new*password* %n\n *new*password* %n\n *changed* 

I have also tried the following:

*old*password* %o\n *new*password* %n\n *new*password* %n\n *changed* 

Please Help!!!
