wine users - Jun 2011 - Booting from a flash and need to install wine

I am new to linux and am booting from ubuntu 10.10 I need to install wine so I
can load teamviewer. I have a synaptic package manager. When I do a search for
Wine inside Synaptic, there is about a dozen listings.  I have no idea which one
I need to select.

What does this mean? when I right click an .exe program wine is not in the
"open with" list. If I do a custom browse Wine is not found

hello spawnhappy jake,

thank you very much for the very detailed information that you have provided. I
am also looking at creating a bootable thumb drive like you guys. I will surely
take note of the the tips that you have provided and hopefully be able to do
what I want without a hitch.

Now, just thinking about it, I want to do it like you did.
