I am attempting to run an application which must be activated, and the activation requires that the Windows directory and application directory have timestamps that persist from session to session. I am new to Linus (Ubunto 10.10) and WINE(1.2). I have not been able to discover how to get these directory to appear as real, with fixed timestamps, instead of virtual. Can anyone point me to info on how to fix this?
Do you mean the creation time? Creation time shouldn't change on any OS.
When I look at the properties of the C: drive with WINE, the Windows timestamp is the time I last rebooted, and the application folder shows the last time the program ran. It appears to me that these two are being virtualized, and the application looks at the virtualized timestamps and is disabled. I used the Setup.exe that came from the publisher to install the program. Other folders on the C: drive appear real.
