I have just installed EON .599 on a machine with a 6 disk raidz2 configuration. I run updimg after creating a zpool. When I reboot, and attempt to run ''zpool list'' it returns ''no pools configured''. I''ve checked /etc/zfs/zpool.cache, and it appears to have configuration information about the disks in place. If I run zpool import, it loads properly, but for whatever reason with EON, it''s not saving the configuration. Any ideas where I should start looking? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
You will have to uncomment the "zpool import -a" line in /mnt/eon0/.exec for this to automatically import your pools on startup. (took a while before I found this too...) Other than that, for me, EON is great! br, syljua -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
I''ve run into something odd. I find that my EON setup loses all user ids and passwords when rebooted. It does import the zpool. Do I need to update the image every time I add users? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
I''m answering my own question, having just decided to try it. Yes, anything you want to persist beyond reboot with EON that''s not in the zfs pools has to have an image update done before shutdown. I had this Doh! moment after I did the trial. Of course all the system config has to be on the system directoriess - which exist only in the boot image for EON. This realization let me fix quite a number of things which I was doing wrong. But it was not obvious to me as a raw beginner at EON. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
