[zfs-discuss] Honey, I blew up the zpool! Help me get my pool back from my noobness!
Hi. I recently transferred a zfs drive containing one pool from a FreeNAS 0.7RC1 box to a FreeNAS 0.7RC2 box. I had earlier reinstalled the first box several times, and managed to get the pool back just using the FreeNAS gui. However, after moving the drive to the new box, and doing the same procedure, it created a new pool, and all the data is gone. Or, the data isn''t gone, the drive reports 25Gb being used, but the new pool contains nothing. Is there any way to rescue the old pool? I have tried "zpool import" and all the stuff I have found by googling, but they only find the new pool I created. I don''t necessarily need the pool itself back. But the data would be nice to have since there are unbackuped family photos and stuff there... (Yes I know... But I was going to setup the offsite backup _after_ migrating to the new box :( ) Any suggestions? Christian Norway. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

All zpool commands only display info about the last pool i destroyed/created (which isn''t the one I''m looking for). But I don''t think i have tried the history command... "zpool history" ? -C-
