[zfs-discuss] zfs send/rcv between nevada and solaris10
Can I do a zfs send filesystem from Solaris-10 into a file.zfs to a machine running OpenSolaris-2009.06, store it there and later do a zfs receive TO the solaris-10 machine from this file.zfs (onto the OSOl machine? I ask because I''m not sure if the zfs rpool versions will get in the way. S10 has v10 and Opensolaris is on v14. -- Dick Hoogendijk -- PGP/GnuPG key: 01D2433D + http://nagual.nl/ | nevada / OpenSolaris 2009.06 release + All that''s really worth doing is what we do for others (Lewis Carrol)

You can also pipe the sent to a receive on the OS box and send it back later. The filesystem version will be the version from the source. I had to do this recently with a filesystem that contained a snapshot that was toxic to Solaris 10. Ian
