zfs discuss - Jun 2009 - zfs send/rcv between nevada and solaris10

Can I do a zfs send filesystem from Solaris-10 into a file.zfs to a
machine running OpenSolaris-2009.06, store it there and later do a zfs
receive TO the solaris-10 machine from this file.zfs (onto the OSOl
machine? I ask because I''m not sure if the zfs rpool versions will get
in the way. S10 has v10 and Opensolaris is on v14.

Yes.  You can also pipe the sent to a receive on the OS box and send it back
later.  The filesystem version will be the version from the source.

I had to do this recently with a filesystem that contained a snapshot that was
toxic to Solaris 10.
