Bouncing a thread from the device drivers list: http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=357176 Does anybody know if OpenSolaris will support this new Supermicro card, based on the Marvell 88SE6480 chipset? It''s a true PCI Express 8 port JBOD SAS/SATA controller with pricing apparently around $125. If it works with OpenSolaris it sounds pretty much perfect. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... If anyone finds something comparable with external connectors on a low-profile PCIe card, please post here. :-) Thanks -- Volker -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Volker A. I''m not going to buy something just to throw it in the garbage (if it can''t handle hot swap it''d go right into the garbage vs. being re-used). --Tim -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Just a quick note for the benefit of the list, the hot swap problems Tim is talking about were the ones with the Supermicro AOC-SAT2-MV8 card, and this card is working perfectly now for me in OpenSolaris 2008.11 and 2009.06. There was no note of the bug being fixed, but one of the marvell driver updates must have quietly resolved this. I''m quite happy so far with my LSI cards, which replaced a couple of the Supermicro Marvell cards: # scanpci ... pci bus 0x0007 cardnum 0x00 function 0x00: vendor 0x1000 device 0x0058 LSI Logic / Symbios Logic SAS1068E PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS On Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 2:45 AM, James Andrewartha <jamesa at daa.com.au> wrote:> myxiplx at googlemail.com wrote: >> Bouncing a thread from the device drivers list: >> http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=357176 >> >> Does anybody know if OpenSolaris will support this new Supermicro card, >> based on the Marvell 88SE6480 chipset?
