[zfs-discuss] cpu performance degrade during resilver
Hi, We are in a situation where we have to move a zpool''s devices from one LUN to another. Our plan was to mirror it up (it''s single LUN zpool), and break the mirror after resilvering. #zpool attach mypool existingdisk newdisk #zpool status mypool (wait for resilvering to be finished) #zpool detach mypool existingdisk We did not dare to try the replace function, as we wasnot sure if this would work. Well, It worked, but during the resilver, the machine was almost non-responsive. The resilvering took all available resources on the machine. ..and it''s not a formel-1 machine, it''s a 2cpu 1.5Ghz SUNW,Sun-Fire-V215 w/10G memory We have got 1 more LUN where we have to do this. Is there any way to make the resilver- process use less resources? There is no compression and no checksum at the moment on the zpool. The solaris version is (sorry to say) solaris 10-1106 -mnespen- -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
