[zfs-discuss] Do multiple pools compete for memory?
I observed the following on a machine running Solaris 10 update 4: I was sending a zfs with zfs send to a zpool on the same machine for backup purposes. After a while (the machine was otherwise idle), the desktop froze and a couple of seconds later I saw that the page scanner had kicked in and was scanning at a rate of about 10k pages per second. So obviously ZFS was memory hungry, but I never saw the same effect with a single pool on one machine. So that makes me wonder: do multiple zfs pools compete against each other for memory? - Thomas This message posted from opensolaris.org
