Hungry channel
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I'm having problems with hungry h323 channels. I think I've seen a question about this problem on this list before, but I couldn't seem to find it again. The problem is that the first 2-3 seconds of audio after Answer from Asterisk to an h323 phone disappears in thin air. The easy (but ugly) way to solve this is to add a 3 second

RAqua too hungry of cpu time
It seems that RAqua consumes too much cpu time when doing nothing. I can't see exactly why this is happening. We have few days to fix this up. Any idea (after having look at the code) would be fine. stefano

incomplete window contents when unminimizing
Hi, Using Xgl, when a window is unminimized, sometimes (especially with Firefox), the window contents are not immediately visible (partially or completely) until an unminimize animation is completed. That is, sometimes there are empty (transparent) rectangles within the window (maybe corresponding to some Mozilla controls), and sometimes the whole window is empty (only the decoration is visible).

Thrashing?
Does R do its own swapping out to disk? I disabled Linux swapping and the system still gets stuck in Purgatory where there's little CPU activity but the disk goes like crazy. That's with R having almost the whole machine to itself and running a memory hungry compute only function. I've seen this behavior with other version numbers but I'm running R 2.0.0 under Fedora Core 3.

CentOS 7, memory hungry (2.5GB) without user and heavy services running
Hello, The last weekend, the VM with CentOS 7 (kernel-3.10.0-327.28.2.el7.x86_64) was running with 2.5GB of used memory, but without users connected, and heavy services running. Three minutes after reboot, the o.s. is running with 114MB used. ?Why the 62% of memory is used if the o.s. does not have an intensive load? top sorted by memory: top - 12:55:34 up 8 days, 21:41, 1 user, load

What would be the recommend amount of memory for zfs across 6 drives on this setup? Also can 9.1 now boot to zfs from the installer? (no tricks for post install) Thanks

Conversation interrupted by fax
Asterisk SVN-trunk-r7353M (will be moving to 1.2.2 this weekend) E1 connected to Sangoma A102 SIP phones (Cisco 7960) I've been making a call from my mobile to the office, when, suddenly the conversation is terminated and replaced by a "fax-type" sound. This has happened to me several times over the past year, so it's not the version of asterisk (we've had cvs trunk and

kvm: vm root fs becomes ro
I've a the following happen a couple times now, and my internet searches are failing to locate an answer to the problem. We've got a few servers that primarily house VMs using KVM. They've got E-3 cpus and 32 GB RAM, and they run stock CentOS 6.4, fully patched (not yet migrated to 6.5). The VM disk images are housed on an NFS server. None of the VMs is particularly

counting occurences of words in the result set
Hello, I need to be able to count the occurences of certain terms in the reults. Currently my setup is Ferret 0.10.1 aaf bleeding edge. results = VoObject.find_by_contents(query,:offset=>page, :limit=> 20,:sort => sort_fields) I use results.total_hits for pagination. This all works really nicely. However i need to be able to know how many occurences of certain predefined terms occur

Regular expressions: retrieving matches depending on intervening strings [Follow-up]
Dear all This is a follow-up to an earlier posting today regarding a regular expression question. In the meantime, this is the best approximation I could come up with and should give you a better idea what I am talking about. a<-c("<w AT0>a <w NN1>blockage <w CJC>and <w DT0>that<c PUN>.", "<w AT0>a <w NN1>blockage <w CJC>and

grep in filename
Is there any version of grep that gets information from the filename? For example: x <- "myfile.txt" y <- grep.file("my text", x) should return in y the lines with my text. I know that x <- "myfile.txt" y <- grep("my text", readLines(x)) will probably work, but maybe there's a more direct (and less memory hungry) option. Alberto Monteiro

configure patch for Alpha/Tru64 Unix 5.1
I had to apply this patch to configure.in to get configure to run on Tru64 Unix on Alpha. The RSA test forgot to reset $LIBS. (The compile stopped with missing "zlib.h". I'll send more patches if required. :-) diff -ur src-2.9p1/configure.in src-2.9p1-local/configure.in --- src-2.9p1/configure.in Wed Jun 6 17:15:09 2001 +++ src-2.9p1-local/configure.in Wed Jun 6

performance and interrupts
I am playing around with irqbalance to tune my 8 core system so I came across this page, http://kb.fusionio.com/KB/a65/irqbalance-avoid-overloading-cpu-0-with-interrupt-requests.aspx Now, lets say I disable irqbalance which will stop my autobalance and I pin all of my interrupts to core 0 and pin eth0 and eth1 to core 1. My application is network and CPU hungry. I am planning to dedicate cpu 3 to
