The other day I posted about how I did a "replace" that I really
should not have done. I was advised to do a "detach", which worked
fine! Thanks for that!!
Today I rebooted the system and i find the zpool is doing a resilver:
pool: z_tsmsun1_raidpool
state: ONLINE
status: One or more devices is currently being resilvered. The pool will
continue to function, possibly in a degraded state.
action: Wait for the resilver to complete.
scrub: resilver in progress, 0.01% done, 9872h56m to go

errors: No known data errors
It''s been running for 30 minutes and the estimated time is climbing
pretty fast... Looking at the I/O i can see that ZFS is doing some very small
reads on all the devices, but no writes.
Since the reads appear to be really throttled I don''t believe this will
affect performance... however this resilver is going to take a year or more to
complete! And since I see NO WRITE activity i wonder if it is actually doing
anything useful...
I did try a "scrub -s" to see if that would stop it... no luck...
any advise would be greatly appreciated!
thanks!
john
