[zfs-discuss] Has the ST3750640AS Segate 750 GB sata drive been tried with ZFS yet ?
Hi, Segate has released the ST3750640AS 750 GB sata drive. I would like to take two of these and plug in to a the Nvidia Nforce 4 Sata I/F an run Zfs on . ( I have installed SXCR build 40 on a shuttle SNP25 PC last weekend with some install problems I reported in the install-discussionlist ) I there any limitations anywhere in the path to the drive that would stop me from attaching ST3750640AS . I guess I am asking about the layers below ZFS. like the SATA driver and possibly bits of code to the nforce 4 chipset. Will all of these drivers allow me to attach two 750 GB drives ? If I should ask some place else please advise //Lars This message posted from opensolaris.org

We commonly test zfs on lun''s between 1.3 and 1.6 TBs. We used lun''s like this to form a zfs pool that was 35.5 TBs. Cheers, Jim This message posted from opensolaris.org

I tried with several LUNs with over 4TB in size each - everything works perfectly. -- Best regards, Robert mailto:rmilkowski at task.gda.pl http://milek.blogspot.com
