zfs root eta?
Hi, I was just wondering if ZFS root is likely to be an install option any time soon, either in SXCR or the June Solaris update? The mechanism at Tabriz''s blog seem to work well, but it''d be nice to get it out of the box. -- Rasputin :: Jack of All Trades - Master of Nuns http://number9.hellooperator.net/

Has the ST3750640AS Segate 750 GB sata drive been tried with ZFS yet ?
Hi, Segate has released the ST3750640AS 750 GB sata drive. I would like to take two of these and plug in to a the Nvidia Nforce 4 Sata I/F an run Zfs on . ( I have installed SXCR build 40 on a shuttle SNP25 PC last weekend with some install problems I reported in the install-discussionlist ) I there any limitations anywhere in the path to the drive that would stop me from attaching ST3750640AS . I guess I am asking about the layers below ZFS. like the SAT...

Problems building osox-src-2006-08-16 on x86_64 (dwarf data)
Hello, Did anybody outside SUN tried to build xen-src (osox-src-2006-08-16)? I had tried it on x86_64 machine. I am running SXCR46 (I know that it says that SXCR 44 is needed, but I hope that this is a minimum requierment, even that it doesn''t say it explicitly, and that SXCR 46 is also good. BTW, Am I right in this ? ) ; I ran "nightly opensolaris.sh &". My NIGHTLY_OPTIONS is "-FNnaCDlmrt&q...

zfs set sharenfs=on
I started sharing out zfs filesystems via NFS last week using sharenfs=on. That seems to work fine until I reboot. Turned out the NFS server wasn''t enabled - I had to enable nfs/server, nfs/lockmgr and nfs/status manually. This is a stock SXCR b49 (ZFS root) install - don''t think I''d changed anything much. Shouldn''t a ZFS share be permanently enabling NFS? -- Rasputin :: Jack of All Trades - Master of Nuns http://number9.hellooperator.net/

ZFS/iSCSI target integration
Rick McNeal and I have been working on building support for sharing ZVOLs as iSCSI targets directly into ZFS. Below is the proposal I''ll be submitting to PSARC. Comments and suggestions are welcome. Adam ---8<--- iSCSI/ZFS Integration A. Overview The goal of this project is to couple ZFS with the iSCSI target in Solaris specifically to make it as easy to create and export ZVOLs

ZFS panic while mounting lofi device?
I believe ZFS is causing a panic whenever I attempt to mount an iso image (SXCR build 39) that happens to reside on a ZFS file system. The problem is 100% reproducible. I''m quite new to OpenSolaris, so I may be incorrect in saying it''s ZFS'' fault. Also, let me know if you need any additional information or debug output to help diagnose things....

Nice chassis for ZFS server
Hi, I just came across this box [0] (McKay Creek). Seems to be exceptional building material for ZFS based NAS/iSCSI unit. I especially liked the two extra system disks hidden inside the box ! Any one have an experience with these ? [0] http://www.intel.com/design/servers/storage/ssr212mc2 -- Regards, Cyril
