hi community, after installing (debian 6) squeeze, roughly following the installation guide on the xen (and ganeti) websites (using the aptitude pm for xen4 and genati2) i have run into a very strange ?bug? - ?annoyance? on my main node (xeon e5506 on a supermicro X8DTL-i). while booting up the system with the xen 4 boot wrapper, the sequence suddenly stops for what seems to be "no reason" ... the first time, i waited for a few minutes and was about to press [contr] [alt] [del]. the moment i pressed [contr] the process went on for a couple of seconds and that stalled again. curious about whether it was an incidence or not i pressed [contr] again - and, it went on again for a bit :puzzled: this way i can boot into squeeze and even log on - but the systems seems extremely unresponsive, even more if i connect to it over ssh (putty). examining the bootup msg i found "hda-intel codecs not found!" - what seems to be some sort of error in conjunction with a sound card - but there is not soundcard what so ever installed on this node o.O if there is someone out there having some input for me about what the reason could be - i''m eager to learn ;) tia and greets, attila _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Have you enabled virtualization extensions (intel VT for example) in your cpu configuration (bios) ? Have a look on http://www.xenclustering.com <http://www.xenclustering.com> to get a usefull script to perform automatic xen & ganeti installation on a debian squeeze. -- View this message in context: http://xen.1045712.n5.nabble.com/debian-6-squeeze-xen-4-ganeti-troubles-tp3349959p5713667.html Sent from the Xen - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
Hello, The official homepage of Ganeti is http://code.google.com/p/ganeti/ not the link you have been posting. This appears to be a reply to a mail from 2011 and your other post seems to be a reply to a mail from 2005. While Ganeti is indeed interesting I''m not sure it is worth following up to such old mails. Nabble is really awful for this sort of thing, I would highly recommend subscribing to the list directly or at least paying attention to the freshness of the messages to which you are replying. Also please try and quote some context, this is another failing of the nabble interface. As is the complete lack of CCs. Thanks, Ian.
