Hi Im running xen on squeeze with 2.6.32-4-xen-amd64 and xen 3.4.3-rc3 from official debian packages. This works fine for PV, but HVM seems to lack. Anyone knows the status for this in Debian? I saw something about a maintainer not wanting to maintain the HVM(security etc) bit so he ditched it. --- Mvh Rolf Arne Larsen System Administrator rolf@startsiden.no ABC Startsiden AS Sagveien 21A, 0459 Oslo _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

You could compile 3.4.3 yourself and use squeeze with 2.6.32-4-xen-amd64 kernel. This should get you HVM functionality. -M _________________________________________________________________ Win a $10,000 shopping spree from Hotmail! I doubt anyone is running pv_ops dom0 in serious production uses yet. So I''m not sure backporting this sort of stuff to our very stable branch is really necessary. Anyone running pv_ops dom0 is likely not scared of Xen 4.0. -- Keir end quote. So your mileage may vary I guess. I also tested the 3.4.3 branch some time ago before it reached 3.4.3-rc7-pre and it worked with my pv-ops based XEN kernel. -M _________________________________________________________________ Win $10,000 from Hotmail! EDIT: After reviewing http://xenbits.xensource.com/xen-3.4-testing.hg?diff/269e0c52dc3f/Config.mk I noticed the "-QEMU_TAG := xen-3.4.3-rc6" without added a new tag. So does this release support HVM functionality? If need be the 3.4.3-rc6 did. -M _________________________________________________________________ 30 days of prizes to be won with Hotmail.
