Hi, Just wondering what the best procedure is to carry out kernel upgrade. Should I just run in the existing tree cd /usr/src/linux-2.6 git pull make oldconfig make bzImage make modules make modules_install cp -a arch/x86/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinuz-version cp -a System.map /boot/System.map-version cp -a .config /boot/config-version depmod -a update-initramfs -c -k version _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

After "git pull" it''s good to take a look at "git log" and compare to for example http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/jeremy/xen.git;a=shortlog;h=xen/stable-2.6.32.x to see that you have the latest changes for real. -- Pasi> > cd /usr/src/linux-2.6 > > git pull > > make oldconfig > > make bzImage > > make modules > > make modules_install > > cp -a arch/x86/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinuz-version > > cp -a System.map /boot/System.map-version > > cp -a .config /boot/config-version > > depmod -a > > update-initramfs -c -k version > > > > > >> _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users_______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
