I heard that only way to run(including migration) both 32bit and 64bit guestOSs is to install 32bit domain 0 on 64bit hypervisor. Could anyone please answer how I can do this on fedora 8? _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Actually Citrix Xen runs in that way. I tried 64bit dom0 and 64bit hypervior, but 32bit guestOS migration, pause, save failed. To be specific, I want to run and migrate all 32bit and 64bit guest OSs. 2009/10/27 서지혜 <bonayaing@gmail.com>> I heard that only way to run(including migration) both 32bit and 64bit > guestOSs is to install 32bit domain 0 on 64bit hypervisor. > Could anyone please answer how I can do this on fedora 8? > > >_______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I just tested it with RHEL5 dom0 and domU (fully up to date), kernel 2.6.18-164.2.1.el5xen, and Xen 3.4.1 from Gitco. Live migration works for 32bit pv guests as well. -- Fajar _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Re: [Xen-users] Re: Running 32bit domain 0 on 64 bit hypervisor
The version of Xen you''re running is too old. You''ll need to upgrade to a later version. I had this problem with Xen 3.1.x. I''ve recently upgraded my infrastructure to Xen 3.4.1, running 64-bit Hypervisor + 64-bit dom0 + mixed 32-bit/64-bit domU''s, with migration/save/restore working perfectly. The problem you''re running into is with the userspace utilities xc_save and xc_restore (fixed in later versions of Xen). If you run a 64-bit Hypervisor with 32-bit dom0, then you''ll only be able to save/restore/migrate 32-bit domU''s.... Trying this on 64-bit domU''s will fail in the same way you''re experiencing now with your 32-bit domU''s. Hope this helps. 서지혜 wrote:> Actually Citrix Xen runs in that way.
