Hi, today I can not start any domU in one server. I can not get following information, the log contains nothing. Using config file "./test.cfg". Error: Device creation failed for domain test Any one has a solution for this without a reboot? I''m running xen 3.3.1 in centos 5.2 _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

The config file is normal, and the domain is created by our script, this server is online for 6 months, Right any new domain can not start, also if we do a reboot for domU that is running now, it will never start any more. I''m afraid I have to reboot the node. We can not help you if you do not provide us the contents of your .cfg file I''m afraid. Based on your error message it could be many things... 2009/10/22 Jingyun He <jingyun.ho@gmail.com>> The config file is normal, and the domain is created by our script, > this server is online for 6 months, > > Right any new domain can not start, also if we do a reboot for domU > that is running now, it will never start any more. > > I''m afraid I have to reboot the node. > > On Thu, Oct 22, 2009 at 3:38 PM, Boris Quiroz <boris.quiroz@acepta.com> > wrote: > > Jingyun He wrote: > >> > >> Hi, today I can not start any domU in one server. > >> I can not get following information, the log contains nothing. > >> > >> Using config file "./test.cfg". > >> Error: Device creation failed for domain test > >> > >> Any one has a solution for this without a reboot? > >> > >> I''m running xen 3.3.1 in centos 5.2 > >> > >> _______________________________________________ > >> Xen-users mailing list > >> Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > >> http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users > >> > > Can we see you test.cfg file? > > Did you create this domU with xen-tools, virt-install, debootstrap or > > something else? > > > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users >_______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Hi, the reason why I did not provide the config file is I think there is nothing to do with config, as these files are working for 6 months. Any way, here it is: kernel=''/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-92.1.22.el5xen'' ramdisk=''/boot/initrd.img'' memory=512 cpu_weight=512 name=''test'' vif=[''ip=1.1.1.1,vifname=test,mac=''] vcpus=4 serial=''pty'' disk=[''phy:/dev/VolGroup00/test_rootimg,sda1,w'',''phy:/dev/VolGroup00/test_vmswap,sda2,w''] root=''/dev/sda1 ro'' Thanks. How is the domU storage accessed (physical disk, image file... etc)? _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
