Hi, I want to install a Debian DomU on a Debian Lenny Dom0, but I don''t wanna use xen-create-image from xen-tools. I''ve successfully installed a Centos5.3 domU booting from the iso file and I want to do the same with this debian install. I know I''ve to download a vmlinuz and initrd file, but I''m not quite sure where I can download them. I want this domU use a lvm and put inside 3 partitions: swap, /boot and /. Maybe this experiment sound weird, but I''m testing... Any suggestion for the partitions and/or the installation process?? Thanks. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

That''s for Debian Etch DomU at SNV Dom0 :- http://librenix.com/?inode=12801 Regarding Lenny . . . 1. Install HVM DomU. 2. apt-get install linux-image-xen-amd64 ( http://packages.debian.org/lenny/linux-image-xen-amd64) Image should be ready for loading PV DomU via pygrub, after adding corresponding entry into /boot/grub/menu.lst. In general, utilizing HVM Debian Etch & Ubuntu Server (<=8.04) images after apt-get install linux-image-xen-amd64 for loading PV DomUs is pretty much well known approach. Lenny was never my concern, however, i hardly believe ,that it would be something special. Just reproduced on F12 rawhide via #yum install debootstrap Debian Lenny 64-bit PV DomU install. Attempts to install HVM (64-bit) via mirrors failed. The Etch installer isn''t prepared to run as a Xen PV domU, but if you replace the kernel with the -xen variant, add the necessary modules to the initrd and willing to prime the partition setup from the installer console, it can be used to install a working PV domU. -- Feri. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
