[Xen-users] Need help ASAP with xen network problem after chassis swap
We had a server hardware problem and had to swap out the chassis which integrated gig NICs. Server is running SLES10SP2 and xen version 3.2.0. I booted into the non-xen kernel and reset up the network card. When I reboot and load the xen kernel it still does not get on the network. Can anyone tell me what I need to adjust? I need to get this server back up asap. Not sure what other information I need to provide. Thanks, James _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

RE: [Xen-users] Need help ASAP with xen network problemafterchassis swap
Glad the rename worked. can you do lspci ? sounds to me that the XEN kernel doesn''t have the modules in to detect your nics. What nics are they? I will check the files you mention above to see if that''s why it didn''t start automatically. Thanks to everyone for all the help. Now that the server is back up I need to leave it for now. Hopefully the hardware problem is fixed too! How can I force those to be eth0 and >eth1?Check /etc/udev/rules.d and you''ll probably find a file called something like 70-persistent-net.rules. Normally you can edit this to set the network interface names as you wish. Not sure if you can make the changes by restarting udev, I tend to reboot the system and everything will load up properly. -- Simon Hobson Visit http://www.magpiesnestpublishing.co.uk/ for books by acclaimed author Gladys Hobson.
