Hi, I have been trying to create a BartPE plugin using: gplpv_fre_wxp_x86_0.10.0.86.msi so that when Bart is running in a VM it is using the optimised drivers. The process that I have followed to create the plug-in is to take a regshot before installing the GPLPV package into a Windows XP VM, then take a 2nd regshot after the package has been installed and then perform a compare so that I can identify the registry and filesystem changes. Unfortunately at the moment when I start BartPE with the plugin enabled I get a stop 7B (inaccessible boot device). The BSOD occurs after the Windows XP logo and animated blue progress bar appears. To resolve the stop 7B I tried using the txtsetup.oem, xenpci.sys and xenscsi.sys from WindowsXenPV-0.9.4 package, to load the SCSI drivers at startup. However this causes the stop 7B to occur even earlier in the boot process (before the Windows XP logo appears) which suggests that there is an issue with these drivers in a BartPE environment. Any suggestions on how the stop 7B might be resolved? Thanks VW _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

There are probably some registry entries required for those. In that case in the first instance I will have a go at creating a plugin using the 0.9.x drivers. I''m afraid I don''t know much about the entries required in txtsetup.oem, but if a plugin works with the 0.9.x drivers there are probably some people in the BartPE forums that might be able to assist with making the necessary changes to txtsetup.oem for a plugin based on 0.10.x Thanks! I am trying to install WindowsXenPV-0.9.4 - but am getting BSOD (Stop 7E or Stop 8E) when xenpci.sys is being installed. Some additional information: - I am attempting to install on XenServer 5.5 - Working through install.bat, shutdownmon -i also fails with 0xc0000135>_______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

GPLPV 0.9.x almost certainly doesn''t work with XenServer. Later versions may or may not. But I was getting a Stop 7B at startup with the plugin that I had created and the Xen Tools package did not have a txtsetup.oem (or at least I could not see one) so I thought I might have more success using GPLPV package. The other issue with trying to create a plugin from the Xen Tools package is that I have seen posts from others that have tried before me without success on the Citrix Forums, and the assistance that they have received in troubleshooting has been negligible. It looks like my best chance lies with the latest GPLPV package, but I will need to also load the wdf* drivers at boot time. Any tips for the txtsetup.oem file? _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Any tips for thetxtsetup.oem> file?Nope. I''ve not tried it yet. Before you go any further it would be best to first confirm that either the 0.9.x or 0.10.x actually work under windows under XenServer. If it doesn''t, then you are wasting your time getting it going under BartPE.
