Hi,
I''ve experienced both. You''re not telling which version of Xen
or GPL
PV you''re using, but in my case with Xen 3.2-1 and the latest PV, with
installed, the CD-rom drive does in fact disappear.
I tried asking about this issue earlier, but seems my question has
been ignored. Also I noticed on the list that people have had the same
problem before, but didn''t find any solution to it.
At the moment, I''m considering this a feature that I just have to live
with.
In my case, the BSOD after installing was caused by Windows not having
detected and installed the PV devices before they were to be used.
This can be resolved by editing the boot.ini and adding the /NOGPLPV
option to it before rebooting right after the PV installation or
booting into safe mode. After windows detects the XEN devices and
installs the drivers, the /NOGPLPV option may be removed / computer
rebooted normally and all should be well.
(Of course, all of this supposing the BSOD you''re experiencing is the
same as I was).
Cheers,
Antti Kanes
