Hi everybody, Is it possible to get the name of a DomU from inside this DomU ? If yes, how ? I need this because I have an original DomU on LVM used as reference and, with snapshots, I get some DomUs with the same hostname. So, I thinked a script that attribute the name of one DomU as hostname, at startup. Thanks in advance for your help -- Sylvain _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

If it''s PV domU, you can install xen userland tools and run "xenstore-read name" If it''s HVM domU, you need to have something that can read values from xenstore (I''m not aware of ready-to-use application though) -- Fajar _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

It''s effectively an HVM domU and xenstore-read failed. What I found with google seems too complicated for me. I would try to give the hostname from the MAC adress.
