Hi! Is there any patch/tip/workaround yet for xen 3.4 and debian 2.6.26 dom0 kernel? Greetz _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I''ve got a friend asking me to go in on a venture with him, but he is insisting on debian in the dom0, and the only references to the 2.6.26 debian dom0 kernel are people here having trouble and not getting help. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
I have five Debian Lenny Dom0, using their 2.6.26 amd64 kernel ; it works fine. But I only use one vcpu per domain (dom0 too), and additionally pin dom0 vcpu to cpu0. Maximum memory in domU -- 2GB, only PV domU. Maybe this settings somehow improve stability of 2.6.26 kernels. Details: dom0 kernels: linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 2.6.26-15lenny2 linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-686 2.6.26-15lenny2 domU kernels: linux-image-2.6.26-2-686-bigmem 2.6.26-15lenny2 linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-686 2.6.26-15lenny2 Regards, Kupson -- Great software without the knowledge to run it is pretty useless. I was answering to this sentence :> the only references to the 2.6.26 debian dom0 kernel are people here having trouble and not getting helpBut no, I don''t use a 3.4 version of Xen. I use the Debian kernel (on Dom0), and so use also the Debian version of Xen : 3.2 You can found the 3.3 version in Debian sid (http://packages.debian.org/sid/xen-hypervisor-unstable-amd64) but not yet the 3.4. (closes: #495895) I only see some non-SuSE fixes after that initial Xen patch on Wed, 01 Oct 2008 09:02:30 +0200. So it looks like Debian 2.6.26 xen kernel is missing many bugfixes/patches Novell/SuSE guys have done after that related to Xen support (for SLES11). Please correct me if I''m wrong.. I think the Novell/SuSE kernels / Xen patches are here: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/kernel/kotd/SLE11_BRANCH/ -- Pasi _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
