I know this is subjective. I''m in the process of upgrading my xen servers to lenny. I hope to not change the xen in dom0 until the next debian version is released. The xen 3.2.1 and 2.6.26 kernel in lenny seem to work well but I wonder if I would be better off installing 3.3.1 from source? If so should I use the debian xen kernel? Re: [Xen-users] Best debian xen setup?
Hi, I''m using the Debian Lenny in 14 dom0s since the release if the distro. Also I have mounted the Xen Live CD v2.0 with Debian Lenny too, you can boot your dom0 with the Xen Live CD to test your domUs with new versions... http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/LiveCD I do not see any problems with Xen 3.2 and Linux 2.6.26 and I don''t need the features os Xen 3.3.1 for now... Thanks for the feedback Thiago. Leaning that way also. Some nice new features in 3.1.1 but nothing I must have. And about 32 bits Debian on top of a 64 bits Hypervisor? It''s good too! ;-) 2009/5/11 Ferenc Wagner <wferi@niif.hu>> John McMonagle <johnm@advocap.org> writes: > > > If so should I use the debian xen kernel? > > The 64-bit Debian dom0 kernels seem to work much better than the > 32-bit PAE ones, see #524571 or #504805. > -- > Feri. > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users >_______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Sounds nasty. I plan on upgrading all the servers to 64-bit that can do it. I have upgraded 3 servers to lenny 32-bit PAE. Have had no crashes. Two have been up for 3 months. The other is a test machine that is off most of the time. All domus have no more than 1gb ram.
