[Xen-users] Xen PV Drivers 0.9.12-pre13 and Windows 2003 - Network doesn''t work
Hi, I''ve just tried to use the pv drivers (0.9.12-pre13) on a windows 2003 r2 32bit server, but the xen virtual network interfaces comes up with a yellow warning sign. the realtek driver is still active and working. there also doesn''t show up a new LAN connection in the network connections control panel. any idea how to fix or debug this? lg philipp ps: I''m using xen 3.3.1 and the drivers work with windows 2008 32bit and windows xp 32bit on the same machine. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Hi, just to add, Windows 2003 R2 64bit has the same problem. is this a known problem with this version? lg Philipp On Feb 10, 2009, at 2:30 PM, Philipp Schmid wrote:> Hi, > > I''ve just tried to use the pv drivers (0.9.12-pre13) on a windows > 2003 r2 32bit server, but the xen virtual network interfaces comes > up with a yellow warning sign. > the realtek driver is still active and working. > there also doesn''t show up a new LAN connection in the network > connections control panel. > > any idea how to fix or debug this? > > lg philipp > > ps: I''m using xen 3.3.1 and the drivers work with windows 2008 32bit > and windows xp 32bit on the same machine. > > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users_______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Re: [Xen-users] Xen PV Drivers 0.9.12-pre13 and Windows 2003 - Network doesn''t work
Hi, ok, now it gets even stranger. I have successfully installed a 32bit Windows XP with the GPL PV drivers and the network pv driver does work. Now I have installed an additional Windows XP 32bit (after the two Windows 2003 installations) and the GPL PV network driver also fails in this new XP instance. Is it possible that I can only have a certain amount of Windows HVMs with the GPL PV drivers on the same host? Lg Philipp Ps: I have attached a screenshot of the device manager On Feb 11, 2009, at 10:18 PM, Philipp Schmid wrote:> Hi, > > just to add, Windows 2003 R2 64bit has the same problem. > > is this a known problem with this version? > > lg Philipp > > On Feb 10, 2009, at 2:30 PM, Philipp Schmid wrote: > >> Hi, >> >> I''ve just tried to use the pv drivers (0.9.12-pre13) on a windows >> 2003 r2 32bit server, but the xen virtual network interfaces comes >> up with a yellow warning sign. >> the realtek driver is still active and working. >> there also doesn''t show up a new LAN connection in the network >> connections control panel. >> >> any idea how to fix or debug this? >> >> lg philipp >> >> ps: I''m using xen 3.3.1 and the drivers work with windows 2008 >> 32bit and windows xp 32bit on the same machine. >> >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Xen-users mailing list >> Xen-users@lists.xensource.com >> http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users > > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users_______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Re: [Xen-users] Xen PV Drivers 0.9.12-pre13 and Windows 2003 - Network doesn''t work
0.9.12-pre13 gives BSOD 0x0000008E with acpi=0 Has someone a working config file for win2k3 + gplpv version I had one working with acpi=1, but if I clone the machine and change the IP on the cloned machine, it keeps holding the old one :( or gives BSOD I use vif=[''bridge=eth0''] on both the machines Philipp Schmid-3 wrote:> > Hi, > > I''ve just tried to use the pv drivers (0.9.12-pre13) on a windows 2003 > r2 32bit server, but the xen virtual network interfaces comes up with > a yellow warning sign. > the realtek driver is still active and working. > there also doesn''t show up a new LAN connection in the network > connections control panel. > > any idea how to fix or debug this? > > lg philipp > > ps: I''m using xen 3.3.1 and the drivers work with windows 2008 32bit > and windows xp 32bit on the same machine. > > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users > >-- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Xen-PV-Drivers-0.9.12-pre13-and-Windows-2003---Network-doesn%27t-work-tp21933641p22059039.html Sent from the Xen - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

It''s how Windows behave. Which is why I set IP address to DHCP on the "template" domU :)> :( or gives BSODFirst of all you need to make sure that whatever clone method you use is working correctly. dd usually work. I prefer ntfsclone which is faster (but also more complex). Second, on the first boot after cloning I need to boot with /NOGPLPV. Windows will say it detects new device, needs to reboot. Then I boot with /NOGPLPV again, this time running NewSID. THEN I boot with gplpv enabled :) Regards, Fajar _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
