[Xen-users] Network-problems with multiple(16) virtual machines
Hello list, I am doing my first tests with xen-3.3.0 on gentoo and am now running against an unprotocolled limit? I start 16 exactly equal domains. Each receives an IP via dhcp. Now i can ping dom0 (192.168.10.10) from every domU (192.168.10.100 - 115, names are "xen-gentoo-default10..25"). The curious thing is now, that the domains 17 and 20-25 are not able to reach the outer world? Nor there are log-entries concerning this? I tried this again for aprovement with an "ping www.yahoo.de" just to see that dns works. And as told before, all domU are working except theese seven ones? Via google i found the hint for changing "nloopbacks", but this didn''t help either? As you can see in dmesg, i added the options (all modules are builtin). In ifconfig, there are 16 vifs'' listed. Anybody can help? Downwards i added dmesg, ifconfig and grub-config.. Kind regards, Florian Dmesg: -------------------------------- Linux version 2.6.21-xen (root@XEN0) (gcc version 4.1.2 (Gentoo 4.1.2 p1.0.2)) #4 SMP Tue Nov 4 11:24:23 CET 2008 Command line: root=/dev/sda1 console=tty0 loopback.nloopbacks=255 nloopbacks=255 max_loop=255 [...] -------------------------------- # ifconfig|grep Ethernet : -------------------------------- eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:21:5b:d1:a6:a7 peth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:21:5b:d1:a6:a7 vif1.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif10.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif11.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif12.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif13.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif14.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif15.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif16.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif2.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif3.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif4.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif5.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif6.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif7.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif8.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff vif9.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff -------------------------------- Grub-config: -------------------------------- root (hd0,0) title Xen 3.3.0 kernel 2.6.21-xen kernel /boot/xen-3.3.0.gz module /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.21-xen root=/dev/sda1 console=tty0 loopback.nloopbacks=255 nloopbacks=255 max_loop=255 ********************************************************************************************** IMPORTANT: The contents of this email and any attachments are confidential.
