Install kernel-xen on domU and boot it with with pygrub. If you mean to ask "is it possible to use kernel later than 2.6.18 for guests", then the answer is yes, but not from xen.org''s sources. It will be easier to use your favorite distro''s kernel (Fedora, Ubuntu, etc.) Regards, Fajar _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Detailed steps is available on Redhat/Centos manual. http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/5.2/Virtualization/sect-Virtualization-Installing_guests-Create_a_guest_using_virt_manager.html Another alternative would be here http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Xen/InstallingCentOSDomU which shows how install domU using network install, without virt-manager. Hi Fajara, Thanks for your advise. Currently, my domO is debian and CentOS for domU. I''m not sure if virt-manager will work for Debian but I''m going to find another alternative way for debian side. Appreciate if you can advise me for debian package. TIA, -james On Wed, Jun 18, 2008 at 9:43 AM, Fajar A. You can install a Debian guest into a directory using debootstrap, which I think you can build and run on non-Debian hosts. Alternatively, you can install a guest under HVM (assuming your hardware supports that) and then convert it to a PV guest. Instructions on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Xen/InstallingCentOSDomU is mostly valid even for Debian. In particular, it gives you a good xen config example for installing domU. Ubuntu Hardy has virt-manager, so you might want to take a look at that instead. Regards, Fajar> TIA, > > -james > > On Wed, Jun 18, 2008 at 9:43 AM, Fajar A.
