RE: [Xen-users] Cannot Install SLES9-SP4 Para DomU on SLES10-SP1 Dom0
According to Novell it is possible to do SLES9SP4 on SLES10SP1. It isn''t as automated as it probably is in SLES10SP2, but it does work (I have two of them running that I installed before upgrading to SP2 on SLES10). Starting out with an HVM for the install then installing the Xen PV kernel would probably work, too. -Nick>>> On 2008/06/13 at 13:37, Adam Vinsh <adam.vinsh@hp.com> wrote:Hi Mark, I had this same issue trying to install SLES9SP4 PV on to SLES10SP1 host. You cannot do this. You can however install a SLES9SP4 FV guest. If you want a PV SLES9SP4, you will need SLES10SP2. -A This e-mail may contain confidential and privileged material for the sole use of the intended recipient. Interesting, Did you install SLES9SP4 as PV on the SLES10SP1 base? Or as I did by installing FV first? I couldn''t use any of the media or xen-store tricks to install the SP4 PV guest on the SLES10SP1 base. A FV Guest installs great though. -A On Fri, 2008-06-13 at 22:55 +0000, Nick Couchman wrote:> According to Novell it is possible to do SLES9SP4 on SLES10SP1.
