Xen users - Jun 2008 - performance differences between tap:aio and LVM?

I''m helping a friend setup some Xen instances and he''s wanting
to use LVM
for his MySQL based domUs and I would like to use tap:aio instead. His
concern is performance..

Is there any documentation out there that documents the rough performance
penalty of using tap:aio? My search on the intertubes yielded nothing
concrete on this topic.

I''m getting to it... I''m starting to gather testing
information to benchmark
Xen and other VMs in various situations. LVM vs files is on the list. It
probably won''t be until September before I finish and publish the
results
though - sorry.
