Hi all, Is there a tool like VMPlayer for Xen, so that we can run Xen guest system on Windows? It would be very convienient to have this function! Thanks, x _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I don''t see how it would be possible. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Hello Xin, as far as I know, Microsoft aims to have a Xen- like/compatible Hypervisor called Hyper-V. It was planned to include it in Microsoft Server 2008, but due to a delay, the shipped the Server 2008 without this feature. But, there is a Release Candidate [1] for testing purpose at MS homepage for download. It would be very convienient to have this function!Sorry, that''s not possible right now, since you can''t run Xen "under" Windows like you can with VMPlayer. If you want a free VMPlayer-like solution there are a number to choose from (Open Source, as well as just simply no-cost) but there''s not a standard way to run Xen guests there. XenSource were working with MS to create a Xen compatibility layer but I don''t know how you''d obtain that (e.g. maybe you''ll have to buy it from someone?).
