Want to know if someone has experiences with gluster FS + XEN , i want to build a high availability and redudant storage server with Gb network for storing XEN images. Appreciate advices and comments _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Hi, I''ve just been doing exactly this ... it''s not really practical at the moment. Gluster has a couple of critical bugs and the self-heal screws with your network whenever you change a config. Having said that, it does actually work reliably and isn''t that much slower than LVM images .. hth ----- Original Message ----- step 3.: "Alejandro Weintz Aguilar" <alejandro@pixelestudios.com> To: Xen-users@lists.xensource.com Sent: 22 January 2008 17:17:47 o''clock (GMT) Europe/London Subject: [Xen-users] Gluster + XEN Want to know if someone has experiences with gluster FS + XEN , i want to build a high availability and redudant storage server with Gb network for storing XEN images. Hi, fyi; I started off with lots of hangs too .. however pretty much all of these have now been traced back to Xen and fixed. (this is with Gluster) Gareth. ----- Original Message ----- step 3.: "Giulio Fidente" <gfidente@mtld.mobi> To: xen-users@lists.xensource.com Sent: 22 January 2008 17:39:03 o''clock (GMT) Europe/London Subject: Re: [Xen-users] Gluster + XEN Alejandro Weintz Aguilar wrote:> Want to know if someone has experiences with gluster FS + XEN , i want > to build a high availability and redudant storage server with Gb network > for storing XEN images.I tried in the past with a couple of fedora machines using the redhat''s GFS there was a considerable "scripting" part required to get a good monitoring of the machines status and to perform recovers actions ... but when done that was ok, the problem was for us in the reliability of the FS itself which may be the cause of hangs -- Giulio Fidente "What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains." _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
