hi guys, i''ve seen some desperate emails on this list, struggling - like i did for several days - with a working virtual dmz setup. these two guides helped me a lot: http://en.opensuse.org/Xen3_and_a_Virtual_Network http://en.opensuse.org/Xen3_yet_another_Virtual_Network_Concept but they duplicate the xen bridging scripts and use the suse firewall. apart from the ''interfaces'' file my scripts should be pretty much distribution neutral, but i''m just setting up dummy interfaces there anyway. ''my-network-bridge'' already creates the virtual bridges, so local bridged communication does already work when xend starts. ''netfilter_virtual_nat.sh'' does the heavy lifting, all bells and whistles are setup inside of that little cutie. it''s rather restrictive, those who still find holes get a pizza, pm me ;-). http://www.peess.de/vault/xen/interfaces http://www.peess.de/vault/xen/my-network-bridge http://www.peess.de/vault/netfilter/netfilter_virtual_nat.sh so hopefully this simplifies your first setup... bye, daniel -- It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but rather the one most responsive to change.
