Hello, is xen-3.1.0 bound to linux-2.6.18 or can I also use it with >= 2.6.19? I''ve new hardware which is supported only from 2.6.19 and later versions. Or do I''ve to patch the xen-3.1.0 sources? if yes - how (seams not to be the linux src structure)? thx! Oliver -- GMX FreeMail: 1 GB Postfach, 5 E-Mail-Adressen, 10 Free SMS. I think this: http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2007-06/msg00550.html has not changed yet. Redhat seems to have 2.6.21 versions around and I''ve even come across 2.6.22 prerelease versions. Compiling your own seems to be best avoided since there''s no official ''xen patch'' you can apply for each kernel that I can find. AFAIK it''s possible to create my own Debian installer (at least with a customized kernel) which would support the new hardware (especially the JMicron JMB 363 IDE controller on my board is required in order to intall from the DVD drive). regards, Oliver -- GMX FreeMail: 1 GB Postfach, 5 E-Mail-Adressen, 10 Free SMS. I''m in the same boat: my Intel 965 chipset and SATA optical drives (or rather lack of ATA drives) makes the 2.6.18-xen kernel extremely unstable. The thing is, this hardware isn''t really all that new and is in very common use. We really need an easy way for users to upgrade their xen kernels or else the xen developers need to start releasing kernels more frequently.
