Xen users - May 2007 - minimum memory requirement for dom0

When i create a domU i got this error message:

I need 512000 KiB, but dom0_min_mem is 262144 and shrinking to 262144 KiB would
leave only 218580 KiB free

the hardware server have 1024MB of RAM and there is 1 domU running with 500MB,
I''m planning to have 2nd domU with 500MB of RAM too, but i got that
error message.

2 x 500 MB would leave 24MB for the dom0.

what is the minimum RAM needed for dom0? if the dom0 is not running other
applications, only xen.

You might be able to run (or crawl) with perhaps 32MB, but personally I set
my limit to at least 128MB -- the last thing you want is for your dom0 to be
swapping mercilessly while you''re trying to get something useful done.

Shaving 50MB off each of your domUs shouldn''t do any major harm, and
it''s
not as though a stick of RAM is a bankrupting cost these days.
