Hi *, I tried to use lvm2 snapshots feature (very bad idea...i know) in dom0 to backup a guest-os installed on a logical volume. Now i can''t remove the snapshot. If i try to use "lvremove -f", the system freezes and i have to reboot the machine through the power button. is there a way to force the deletion? -- Davide Corio davide.corio<at>redomino.com Redomino S.r.l. Davide, Why do you think this is a bad idea? Is the snapshot unmounted before you try to ''lvremove -f'' it? Yes, i unmounted the snapshot before trying to lvremove it. -- Davide Corio davide.corio<at>redomino.com Redomino S.r.l. I have a nightly job that do just that (snap off domUs, block-attach them to my backup domU and back them up, then block-detach and lvremove the snapshot). I see there is an upgrade, but the changelog doesn''t report anything about snapshot. However, does someone know a possible solution? :( -- Davide Corio davide.corio<at>redomino.com Redomino S.r.l. The problem seems to be caused by this version of lvm2! http://blog.blackdown.de/2006/04/09/lvm-snapshots-with-debian-sarge-and-linux-2616/ I''ll try asap (and pray too) -- Davide Corio davide.corio<at>redomino.com Redomino S.r.l.
