[Xen-users] no init found error when starting a PV guest
Howdy, I just tried creating a PV guest on my SLES 10 machine. Following are the basic steps I went through for that. Under Yast/Xen - Add -> use a disk image or a physical disk that contains OS boot files -> disks -> Add -> create a new disk image (virtual disk = sda2, Source= /var/lib/xen/images/vm3/sda2) - > Accept -> Operating System Boot - > Partition containing boot files = sda2, xen Enabled Kernel: /boot/vmlinuz-xen, boot file(initrd):/boot/initrd-xen, boot option: TERM=xterm When starting the PV guest I get the error message: Kernel Panic - no syncing: No init found: try passing init= to kernel. fdisk -l Disk /dev/sda: 80.0 GB, 80032038912 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9730 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 1 262 2104483+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris /dev/sda2 * 263 9730 76051710 83 Linux menu.lst title SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 root (hd0,1) kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/sda2 vga=0x31a resume=/dev/sda1 splash=si lent showopts initrd /boot/initrd ###Don''t change this comment - YaST2 identifier: Original name: xen### title XEN root (hd0,1) kernel /boot/xen.gz module /boot/vmlinuz-xen root=/dev/sda2 vga=0x31a resume=/dev/sda1 splas h=silent showopts module /boot/initrd-xen What am I missing ?
