[Xen-users] Blank Screen -- Install Windows XP on FC6 (Xen 3.0.3) using AMD-Pacifica(SVM)
Forgive me if my etiquitte is a bit off, but I believe I have done my fair share of digging prior to posting. I am attempting to install a Windows XP Guest on a new FC6 xen build. I have dug through various postings, and I am positive that I have a VMX enabled processor and Xen seems to agree with me. Where I am running into issue is with regards to the possibly infamous "blank/black" screen. After running through the CD install, and rebooting with "xm create <node>" and choosing not to boot from the CD, Xen seems to slide me over to a new screen where nothing happens. Any guidance or direction would be greatly appreciated, as I can''t seem to see any success stories from folks running the AMD Virtualization technology. ######################################### Version Xen version 3.0.3-rc5-1.2849.fc6 (brewbuilder@build.redhat.com) (gcc version 4.1.1 20061011 (Red Hat 4.1.1-30)) Fri Nov 10 12:30:42 EST 2006 Latest ChangeSet: unavailable ######################################### ######################################### Virtualization Tests [root@localhost ~]# grep svm /proc/cpuinfo flags : fpu tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic mtrr mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 ht syscall nx mmxext fxsr_opt rdtscp lm 3dnowext 3dnow pni cx16 lahf_lm cmp_legacy svm cr8_legacy flags : fpu tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic mtrr mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 ht syscall nx mmxext fxsr_opt rdtscp lm 3dnowext 3dnow pni cx16 lahf_lm cmp_legacy svm cr8_legacy [root@localhost ~]# cat /sys/hypervisor/properties/capabilities xen-3.0-x86_64 hvm-3.0-x86_32 hvm-3.0-x86_32p hvm-3.0-x86_64 [root@localhost ~]# xm dmesg|grep SVM (XEN) AMD SVM Extension is enabled for cpu 0.
