[Xen-users] Error: Device 770 (Vbd) could not be connected (Debian Sarge DomU)
hello everybody, since i didnt could make a debian sarge domU work on a fedora core 5 system i installed a debian sarge and tried to get a domU debian sarge working. i did every step of the following howto: http://www.howtoforge.com/debian_sarge_xen_3.0.3_p3 the result of this is that my system versions are: kernel-image-2.6.16.29 dom0 and domU (compiled by myself) xen 3.0.3 fstab in domU: ---------------------- /dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults 1 2 /dev/hda2 none swap sw 0 0 /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0 none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0 ------------------------ vm01-config.sxp: ------------------------- name="vm01" kernel="/boot/vmlinuz-2.6-xenU" root="/dev/hda1" memory=32 disk=[''file:/vserver/images/vm01.img,hda1,w'',''file:/vserver/images/vm01-swap.img,hda2,w''] --------------------------- syslog says the following error (dom0): logger: /etc/xen/scripts/block: writing backend/vbd/6/770/hotplug-status error to xenstore (same if i try to make a hda1 or sda1 except the 770 changes to 2050) while i boot dom0 i get this error: touch: cannot touch ''/var/lock/subsys/xendomains'': No such file or directory when i try to boot the domU i get this error: Error: Device 770 (vbd) could not be connected. Backend device not found. all this done by booting the dom0 kernel and working xend. -------------------------- iam just a little bit frustrated because i want to get a debian sarge in a domU working...i spent already a lot of time so if anybody knows how to figure this issue out please tell me. thanks Alexandros _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

The article states the main reason to compile is for "support for quota and iptables"... jerry _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
