Anyone know if the Xen 3.0 test cd still exists? On the download page at http://www.xensource.com/products/downloads/index.html there''s a hardware compatibility list linked and talk of a test CD to run to add your hardware to it. Since the IBM x3650 we''ve just got (and I''ve just finished installing 2k3 as an HVM guest on :) isn''t listed I thought I''d do the sharing thing and run the test CD. Only I can''t find it obviously linked (except where the links point to nonexistant pages). Or is this something that''s entirely Xensource-y and thus I should be asking them? (I''ve never been entirely sure whether that download page is the best place to be getting Xen from :) -- Julian Davison Note: 1) This may have come from an address @cbhs.school.nz but isn''t necessarily the (or even an) official view of Christchurch Boys'' High School 2) While replying to this address may get into my mailbox it will almost certainly be filtered into a mailing list folder. To actually reach actual me, strip off the bit after the ''-'' in the name. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I have no idea what link to the test cd fton Thomas means, it seems and even older version than the last one I got. It''s best to use the demo cd(nowe called xen live cd I think, the name changes every week or so) instead. As you can read below, this is anyway more exact. But yiou cannot test HVM compatibilty, or at least not without some tweaking (but I don''t know which tweaking). HVM compatibilty can maybe be tested withXenoppix live cd, but on my thinkpad t60 this doesn''t work, but it works in hvm mode with the xen binary packages, and when built and installed from source. Or is this something that''s entirely Xensource-y and thus> I should be asking them? They are responsible for the website. But I already wrote them a mail some days ago and didn''t receive a response yet. They also still didn''t take out a machine from their hardware compatibility list, which seems to have been reported from me running the test cd on a issam/clevo notebook (I allowed the test cd to send the results to the xensource server). The hardware list says this machine is xen compatible, but Xen never ran on this machine, not with the demo cd and with no configurations setup I tried, and I tried a lot. They once responded when I told them about this fact, but never took the machine out. It seems to me that Xensource''s interest in providing good and transparent information for non-Enterprise Users, and people who are not in the circle of developers which seem to come from huge global companies only is not very big. (maybe and hopefully they are reading this and think about it). I see that it''s a 3.0.1 version which is indeed a bit old. At the time that I pulled it down I was trying to see if a particular motherboard was compatible with Xen. Does the DemoCD create a test report that you can submit back to?: http://www.xensource.com/community/xen30testing/results_form.php _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

As said, these results are not totally accurate anyway. I just see, I wrote that it''s now called live cd, but when looking at it, I see that only the file is called livecd-3.0.3.iso now.
