Seems that with prior lvm tools (2.0.1) snapshots are not handled correctly ... The author tell tha a kernel patch is required for old 2.6.16 ? I''ve a 2.6.16.19 kernel from alioth ... Reading another time the article I''ve seen that kernel > 2.6.16.12 doesn''t require lvm2 patch Well so ... I need to test the packages ;) Regards Sébastien CRAMATTE a écrit :> Hi everybody ! > > Well I''ve found this link to debian sarge lvm 2.0.2 backport > > http://blog.blackdown.de/2006/04/09/lvm-snapshots-with-debian-sarge-and-linux-2616/ > > Does anyone have test it ? Do I need to patch my kernel ?i use lvm2 (2.01.04-5) on a plain sarge with kernel 2.6.8 and snapshots work without problems. I also use lvm2 on sarge with other kernels (2.6.12, 2.6.16) and i''ve found out some problems. If there is to few free memory, sometimes snapshots can''t be created. My workaround is, when creating a snapshot fails, i try it again. Within five tries it normaly works. It''s not nice but it works for me. -- greetings eMHa _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
