Hello I have some questions. It saids that new CPU will accepts OS without any modifications, OK? I have a debian on a Dual Xeon box. I want to install some centOS with the help of Xen. Does my plain debian kernel needs to be modified? Which package should I use? Then the boot will be: grub loading xen-3 xen loading a kernel and an initrd. Which ones? xenified kernel or plain kernel? and after, my xmcentos.centos, I will use: kernel=centos-2.6-.18 and it will works? Thanks for response, but I''m a bit lost with this new VT technology in Xeon CPU Lire vos emails en vacances ? To install a Linux kernel under HVM (which is the Xen term for AMD-V and Intel VT combined): You need to have a CD-ROM (or image) that you can use as an installation media, and then use the xmexample.hvm as a template for your installation. There''s plenty of examples of how to do this, if you use google, I''m pretty sure you can find some good material. -- Mats> -----Original Message----- > From: xen-users-bounces@lists.xensource.com > [mailto:xen-users-bounces@lists.xensource.com] On Behalf Of > octane indice > Sent: 11 October 2006 12:10 > To: xen-users@lists.xensource.com > Subject: [Xen-users] new CPU with VT and installation > > Hello > > I have some questions. > > It saids that new CPU will accepts OS without any modifications, OK? > > I have a debian on a Dual Xeon box. But: Does the default dom0 kernel needs to be modified? The docs seems to use a modified one, but is it mandatory?> _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users >Lire vos emails en vacances ?
