All, I''ve recently started having problems with my Windows Xen guest. Up until recently, it ran fine but as of the latest update of the Fedora Core 5 kernel, it now hangs dom0 when I start a guest. This is with kernel 2.6.17-1.2187_FC5xen0 If I reboot using kernel 2.6.17-1.2157_FC5 then I am able to start a guest. There is no other change beyond this kernel version. I am still starting the guest as follows: xm create <guest> The config file for this guest is at the bottom of the e-mail. The only relevant messages I can find in /var/log/messages are as follows: Sep 20 21:57:13 marvin kernel: device vif1.0 entered promiscuous mode Sep 20 21:57:13 marvin kernel: audit(1158785833.797:5): dev=vif1.0 prom=256 old_ prom=0 auid=4294967295 Sep 20 21:57:13 marvin kernel: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): vif1.0: link is not ready Sep 20 21:57:13 marvin kernel: tun: Universal TUN/TAP device driver, 1.6 Sep 20 21:57:13 marvin kernel: tun: (C) 1999-2004 Max Krasnyansky <maxk@qualcomm .com> Sep 20 21:57:13 marvin kernel: device tun0 entered promiscuous mode Sep 20 21:57:13 marvin kernel: audit(1158785833.873:6): dev=tun0 prom=256 old_pr om=0 auid=4294967295 Sep 20 21:57:13 marvin kernel: xenbr0: port 4(tun0) entering learning state Sep 20 21:57:13 marvin kernel: xenbr0: topology change detected, propagating Sep 20 21:57:13 marvin kernel: xenbr0: port 4(tun0) entering forwarding state Sep 20 21:57:18 marvin logger: /etc/xen/scripts/block: Forced to steal lock on / var/run/xen-hotplug/block from 2761: /etc/xen/scripts/block!
