[Xen-users] Problem booting DomU, disk not recognized
Hi, i''ve problems booting a sarge system on xen, this is teh output of xen create test.cfg -c : [CUT] Begin: Loading essential drivers... ... Done. Begin: Running /scripts/init-premount ... Done. Begin: Mounting root file system... ... Begin: Running /scripts/local-top ... Done. Begin: Waiting for root file system... ... Done. ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/afccff09-7189-464a-8de9-48198ee2ed2b does not exist. Dropping to a shell! BusyBox v1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3-2ubuntu3) Built-in shell (ash) Enter ''help'' for a list of built-in commands. /bin/sh: can''t access tty; job control turned off (initramfs) and then i''ve a busybox shell. I tried also with /dev/sda[1|2] in the configuration file but i get the same error. Does anybody know how to solve it? -- Vincenzo Ampolo http://www.nanofreesoft.org http://vincenzoampolo.nanofreesoft.org http://idp.nanofreesoft.org _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Dropping to a shell! This sounds like a real strange location of a disk on a xen domU. Are you trying to use the root device as lvm volume _inside_ the domU? Please tell us - how did you create the domU system - how does the disk config line in your xen config look like - how does your kernel command line in the xen config look like - how does your fstab on the domU system look like.
