Hi all, I have a simple question: Xen 3 support x86-64 and IA-64 plattforms? Many thanks. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

As far as know, xen 3.0 Yes(I didn''t try it), XenEnterprise, for x86-64 - Yes, for IA-64 - No. Best Regards, Ofek Doron> Hi all, I have a simple question: Xen 3 support x86-64 and IA-64 > plattforms? > Many thanks. > > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users > >_______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Currently I''m running Xen 3.0.2 x86_64 (AMD64) version on a machine that is as follows: * Dual Opteron 265 * 12GB of RAM * 2 x 300GB Maxtor SATA drives hooked up to 3ware 9550 in RAID0 * Tyan S2882 Mobo I have about 20 domUs running perfectly, all either CentOS or Debian flavor. I haven''t tried the IA-64 platform, but as for x86_64, no probs at all. Except one... In 32-bit land, I was able to run dom0 fine with just 64MB of RAM. But in the 64-bit land, dom0 crashes with 64MB, gets a little farther with 128MB, but really really requires 256MB to run decently. Every time I check, mem usage on dom0 is ~250MB or so. On my 32-bit Dell, mem usage is about 20MB. I have yet to figure out why the hell the AMD64 machines requires so much RAM and what it''s doing with it.
