Dear Xen-user My name is pho and I''m student. Last week, I read an article on Linux Magazine about Xen. Then I install it, I successed on installing Domain0, but my problem is installing domainU. I can''t use yum command to install OS via webserver. So, I would like to know how to install DomainU by DVD. thank you pho _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
I am not sure which linux distro you are using, so it is hard to comment. If using SLES10, boot to the Xen kernel (should be in /boot/grub/menu.lst if you installed the xen pattern) then just run "yast2 xen" from the command line and walk yourself through the install. Really quite easy with SLES10. Thanks, Glen Novell, Inc. I am having problem with Dell D820 (Core Duo T2500). As soon as domU installer starts, the whole machine freezes. I have to power cycle the machine. This happens to both using Yast and from command line. I use SuSE 10.1 i386. Simon Glen Davis wrote:> > I am not sure which linux distro you are using, so it is hard to > comment. Is this a full-virtualized guest? If so make sure to lock down your memory on Dom0 (IE - xm mem-set 0 512), there is a known issue there. Otherwise, if that issue doesn''t apply, I recommend you use SLES10 rather than Suse10.1. A lot of work, fixes and testing went into Xen on SLES10, and I don''t know if those fixes are all available on Suse 10.1 which shipped much earlier. If you decide to go with SLES10, make sure to register with Customer Center and get the latest Xen downloads ( I believe the updates are free for the first 15 days). It''s full virtualization guest. Reset mem usage for dom0 fixed the freeze problem. However, SDL window does not pop up even though guest os boots. Is SLES10 newer than SuSE 10.1? Is SuSE 10.1 called OpenSuSE? Thanks, Simon Glen Davis wrote:> > Is this a full-virtualized guest?
